There are ways to avoid this. Mainly, when you enter these sweepstakes, purchase tickets or sign up to games sites, make sure that you are not asked to pay anything. Also, make sure you look around for something that tells you that your addresses will not be given out to anyone else. Do not give out personal information, as this can be used against you.  Keep yourself and your information safe in order to avoid frauds and scams.
